TICA Apprentice Funding Application

We are proud to be working with TICA to help support apprentices by offering a grant to help 5 Level 2 apprentices. The donation will be delivered as accommodation grants to the value of £4k for five apprentices who live and work in Devolved Nations where there is currently no funding for accommodation within the Thermal Insulation Apprenticeship that is delivered from the TICA National Training facility in Darlington.

If you would like to apply for one of the five grants, please submit your application using the form below.

Entries must be submitted by midnight on 31st May 2024. Entries submitted after this date will not be considered. See bottom of page for further T&C’s.

How many insulators as an average do you employ and how many apprentices have you employed (and registered) over the past three years?

What are the influencing factors in your decision to take on an apprentice in the July induction?

Describe why you believe you can provide a good learner journey for a thermal insulation apprentice?

If successful, Kitsons and TICA will follow each of the successful candidates to gain regular feedback and for promotion of the initiative through social media channels. Can you confirm you are willing to participate in this process for the duration of the apprenticeship?

    Terms & Conditions:

    • The grant is open to thermal insulation employers who require an apprentice to live and work in Scotland or Wales.
    • The employer does not need to be in current membership of TICA but if not a TICA member, will have to pay all other associated non-member costs for apprenticeship training.
    • Only one grant payment per employer.
    • Apprentices can be enrolled on the Level 2 Thermal Insulation Operative.
    • Valid for inductions during July of 2024.
    • Grant payments for accommodation will be made in milestone payments from IETTL to the employer at three intervals following the fourth college week attendance, Gateway and End Point Assessment.
    • The grants will be awarded following a review of all entries by a Kitsons panel of judges. A decision will be made by 14th June and confirmation of whether your application has been successful or not will be communicated to all entrants by 21st June. All decisions made by the Kitsons judging team are final.
